Obituary of David John Brooks

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of “The Man, The Myth, The Legend,” Dave Brooks after a short illness in his 72nd year.  After 20 years, it gives us great comfort to know he has been reunited with his one true love, his wife, Wendy (DeHoey) Cherished father of Tammy Nead and Amy Brooks.  Devoted Papa to Emily Nead (Bailey), Caitlin Nead (Ron), David Brooks (Rachel), and Abigail Brooks.  Predeceased by his parents Edward & Velma Brooks and brother Bob Brooks.  Loving brother of Betty & Bill Dietrich, Mary & Bob Caron and dear sister-in-law of Diane Brooks.  Loving brother-in-law to the DeHoey family.  Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Dave was known in the community to many for his 29 years of working at Wilson’s Plumbing and Heating Ltd. and 23 years at Goodreau Excavating.  He was well known for his humour and one-liners.  He was also known for his kindness and willingness to help everyone.  His daughters and grandchildren will miss how he would drop everything to help them out.  He was involved in every event in their daily life from sporting events to graduation and everything in between.  We would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the Medicine and ICU floors for their care and compassion towards Dave and his family.  Visitation will be held at Reaume Funeral Home, Inc., 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury, ON on Wednesday, January, 13, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  Due to COVID-19 rules you must register for visitation at the following link https://signup.com/go/XdDEjhw or call 519-682-0110 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. only.  In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Canadian Diabetes Society, or the charity of your choice.
