Obituary of Barbara Joan (Bunny) Gyles

GYLES, Barbara Joan “Bunny” (nee Merritt) Born November 11, 1931 in Windsor, and passed quietly at home in Tilbury on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Daughter of Aubrey Merritt (1956) and dearest mother Doris Powell (2009). Predeceased by always missed husband Lewis (1990). Loving mother to Randy (Maureen) Iliffe, Rick (Peggy) Iliffe, Tammy Gyles-Reaume (Dan), and Tom (Yvette) Gyles. Grandmother to Rikki-Lee, Katie, Richard, Abby, Britney, Bridgette, Max and Tori. Great grandmother of Dillon. Sister of Bill Merritt, Audrey Colquhoun, Lynn Powell, and the late Ralph, Neil, and Sandy Merritt, and Mike Powell. Barbara, in her younger years, cleaned houses, did factory work, and was an A & W carhop while living in Winnipeg. She spent the latter part of her life as a stay at home mom and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bingo, and the occasional trip to the casino. Thanks to C.C.A.C. and Bayshore for all of the support given to Barb these past years and at her time of passing. Very special thanks to Jackie for all the care, companionship and kindness you shared with our mother. Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home, 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
