Gestures
I only recently learned of the passing of both Elise and Bill.
About 52 years ago I met Bill at the Comber Auction when I was articling to be an accountant. We seemed to hit it off though there was 23 years age diffetence.
He mentioned the difficulty getting help.
So what he saw as a city kid offerred to work nights or weekends.
For some reason he decided to take a chance on me but figuring I would not last a day.
My Great grandfather was a farmer but my grandfather hated farming and gave up the farm. Somewhere sonehow farming was still in my blood.
I ended up working with this great man a lot longer than he expected and later in life we laughed about it. He even admitted I did oretty good.
My wife and I really came to love them both and I admired both immensely. They were incredibly kind snd great friends though soon distance and our busy family sbd profesdional lives, kept us physically apart. We never ceased to remember the great times snd keot in touch with all too infrquent visits
They were an important part if a youbg couples first few years. I eill miss them always. 50 yesrs after teaching me to water witch this city kid used it to find an old well no one could locate. Thsnks Bill...no longer just a city kid.
