Obituary of Gerard Edouard Tremblay

TREMBLAY, Gerard Edouard “Bugger”

80 years, of Stoney Point, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday July 20, 2019 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.  Beloved husband, of 60 years, to Ovelina (nee St. Denis).  Loving dad of Yvonne (Jean) Picard, Louis (Marie), Richard (Michelle), Pierre, Marie (Perry) Murray, Sue (Jim) Gauthier, Jake (Garnelle), and Carol (Chris) Dawson.  Proud Pépé of 18 grandchildren, 4 great-granddaughters and 1 late great-granddaughter (2019).  Son of the late Louis and Albertine (née Beaune) Tremblay.  Dear brother of Rita (late Raymond) Dupuis, Paul (Lucy) Tremblay, late Claire (late Gord) Nightingale, Cecile (late Charlie) Strong, Mary-Jane (Paul) Sawinski, Doris (Gord) Jaworski, Juliette (Robert) Rivest, and Gert Tremblay.  Brother-in-law to the children of the late Alfred & Lena St. Denis.  Fun loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Gerard was a hard working truck driver and owner of Gerard Tremblay Trucking.  He loved to hunt and fish and was a founding member of the Belliveau Hunt Club in Commanda Ontario.  He was a past member of the Stoney Point Usher’s Club and was a member of the Michael Andrew Taggart Assembly 0888 4th degree Knights of Columbus and a charter member of the Stoney Point Lion’s Club.  A special thank you to the caring staff at Chez Nous Lodge and Riverview Gardens who cared for him for the last 3 ½ years and  to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance 4th floor doctors and nurses for their compassion in his final days.  Family and friends will be received at Visitation Parish Church, 5407 Comber Side Road, Comber on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 12 noon until time of Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m.   Cremation to Follow.  Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, Stoney Point Sportsmen Club or Visitation Parish Building Fund appreciated.  Online condolences may be shared at www.reaumefh.com
