Died peacefully at C-K Hospice on November 10, 2019 at the age of 88, with family at his side. Beloved husband of 63 years to Maria "Rita" (nee Noordermeer) Van Der Pryt. Loving father of Marjorie (Garry) Claassen, Eric (Kelly) Van Der Pryt , Grace Pepper, Annette (Rob) Ryken, Rene (Evelyn) Van Der Pryt and Jeff (Lisa) Van Der Pryt. Proud Opa to Amanda (Steve), Matthew (Tracy), Kimberley, Kaitlynn, Amber, Nicole (Jeff), Brad, Brian (Terilyn), Greg (Christine), Emily, Alexandra, Madison, Ethan, Darcy, Kristen, Justin and Brandon plus his 12 great grandchildren. Missed by brothers Cor (Nellie) Van Der Pryt, Frank (Cheryl) Van Der Pryt, Joseph Van Der Pryt and sister-in-law Diane Van Der Pryt, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents Joseph and Maria Van Der Pryt as well as sister Dorothy (Bernard) Sterling, brother John Van Der Pryt, sister-in-law Monique Van Der Pryt and grandson David. Born in Heemstede, Netherlands, Theo immigrated to Canada in 1949 where he ultimately settled in Tilbury and built the white house by the 401 overpass for his new bride Rita. Theo worked many years for Libby's (Nestle) where he drove a truck between Chatham, Wallaceburg and Windsor - always stopping at home whenever he drove past for "coffee time". Theo was a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church of Tilbury and its' Knights of Columbus. Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home Inc., 6 Canal St., W., Tilbury, on Thursday, November 14, 2019, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Knights of Columbus prayers at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Tilbury, on November 15, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
