Obituary of Marie Anne Bernadette Marentette

MARENTETTE, Marie-Anne (Marion) nee Brosseau 90 years, of Ruscom, was reunited with her husband Earl (Feb. 5, 2006), her son Paul (1985), and son-in-law Isidore (2003) on February 8, 2020. She was predeceased by her parents Hozäel and Rose (nee Mailloux) Brosseau. Loving and devoted mother of Marie-Anne (Michael) Ouellette, Earl Jr. (Linda) Marentette, Jim (Glenda) Marentette, Roger (Diane) Marentette, Harry (Eleanor) Marentette, Maureen (Cyril) Papineau, Melody (Louis) Quenneville, and Michelle (Paul) Monpetit. Special Mémé, Great Mémé and Great-Great Mémé to Marc & Michelle (Jocelyne and Pascal), Ken & Meredith (Scotia and Keigan) Ouellette, Philip & Sandy (Mercedes (friend Ryan) and Paige), Chad & Leslie (Kristian & Jenny (Zohla, Stephan, and Layma) and Alissa) Marentette, Jason & Genny (Alex and Dani), Bryan & Valerie (Victoria, Alicia, Moriah, Cassia, Ellia, and Joel) Marentette, Jeremy (friend Nicholas), Adrian & Tiffany Marentette, Steven & Kristen (Austen & Maeve), Eric Marentette, Scott & Kristine (Zackary and Noah), John, and Grant Papineau, Emily & Kurt (Mitchell and new baby) Makey, Laura & Aaron (Giacomo) Pellarin, Christopher (friend Alice), Justin & Marie (Asher and Reed) and Caitlin (friend Mark) Montpetit. She also had many step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren to several new family members and also to many neighbouring children. Survived by brother-in-law Maurice Marentette and sister-in-laws Mildred Tatomir and Marion (Alan) McEwen. Mom was a very loving person and had a special place in her heart for Roy Lazarus whom called her mom. She was known for her delicious meals and baking. She started a cake decorating business in 1975, baking and decorating various birthday, wedding, and anniversary cakes for over 30 years before retiring in 2005. She is still known today as the Cake Lady. She was a farmer’s wife, an avid gardener, loved flowers and making puzzles. She enjoyed playing cards, socializing, and was a member of le Club l Âge d’Or in Stoney Point. Most important to her was her family. She sent out Birthday, Anniversary and Christmas cards to each and everyone. The majority of the family gathered every year to celebrate her birthday and for a delicious meal with her famous cheesecake at Christmas in her home on the farm where she resided for nearly 55 years. Family and friends will be received at Visitation Parish Church, Comber from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020 and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020, followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Comber.
