It is with great sorrow, that the family announces the passing of Anna Dierckens, in her 98th year, at Maple City Residence in Chatham. Predeceased by her husband, of 51 years, Valere Dierckens (1990) and the beloved friend of the late Roger Christien (2002). Loving mother of the late Diane Richards (2011), Joyce (Peter) Hensel, Bonnie (Allan 2009) Vickery, Connie (Steve 1989) Franklin (friend Terry McCormick), the late Frances (2020) (Raymond) Pease, and Kevin (Sharron) Dierckens. Grandma D was loved by 14 grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren, and 20 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Anna came from a family of five, Lorraine (Raymond 1996) St. Denis, the late Josephine (2009) (Honore 1965) Giroux, the late Raymond (2017) (Shirley 2016) Thibeault and Alfred (Bertha) Thibeault. We want to acknowledge the wonderful and dedicated staff of Maple City residence for their compassionate care as well that of Victoria Order of Nurses and others who helped give her comfort during her challenging time. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 14th, 2021 from 9:00am to 10:30am at Visitation Parish Church, Comber. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00am. A private interment will be held at Erie Cemetery, Wheatley, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Maple City Residence Activities Fund or to the Chatham-Kent VON. Due to relaxation of Covid restrictions she was finally able to have close contact with her family.
