Obituary of Henriette Lemieux

Lemieux, Marie Henriette Imelda (nee LeBoeuf)

Feb. 25, 1926 – March 7, 2022

It is with a heavy heart that the family would like to announce the passing of Henriette Lemieux at Chatham-Kent Hospice on Monday. March 7, 2022 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Tom Lemieux (2005) for 59 years. Loving mother of Michael (Jill), Patrick (Sandra), Kathy (late Allan) Cottingham, Susan (late Gene) Goodreau,Beverly Beggs, David (Lynn), Fran (Rick) Taylor, Tom, and Linda (D’Arcy) Lucas.  Devoted Meme to 20 grandchildren,33 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. Daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Elizabeth LeBoeuf.  Dear sister of Raymond (1972) (late Leona) Hope, Bernadette (2003) (late Wayne) Harris, Margaret (2010) (late Bert) Greenacre, Lawrence (1988) (late Shirley), Rene (2013) (late Marguerite), Jim (2020) Annette, Monique (2011) (late Harry) Lemieux, Catherine (2002) (late Les) Baughman, Romeo (2010) (surviving wife Joan), and Charles (2021) (late Rena). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A lifetime resident of Tilbury, Henriette also known as Hank by those who were privileged enough to be considered close friends. She was a full-time wife, mother, homemaker and the glue that held her family together. We’d watch in amazement as Mom would create a delicious meal for huge numbers at the drop of a hat. She welcomed friends and family to join us around our large table and there always seemed to be an extra mouth to feed. Our days at the cottage each summer were made memorable as she took on the role of event co-ordinator to keep her busy family occupied. Henriette enjoyed life and loved curling in winter and golfing in her morning league on spring and summer days. She had an infectious smile and enjoyed drawing smiles and laughter from others with her witty remarks.  Henriette was also a member of the CWL.  A special thank you to staff and residents at Hudson Manor where Henriette spent her last 17 years. Our appreciation is extended as well to the staff at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and the Chatham-Kent Hospice for their compassionate care during Henriette’s last days. All are welcome to visitation, held at Reaume Funeral Home Inc., 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury, on Friday, March11, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 (C.W.L. prayers 3:00 p.m.) and 6:00-8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass officiated by Father Eugene Roy will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 32 Canal St. W.,with interment to follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
