ANDERSON – Marjorie Frances (Harrow)

 

Sept 12, 1926 –Oct 13, 2022

 

Raised in Essex, Ontario where she graduated from Essex High School and went on to Normal School to be a teacher.

 

Her first teaching job was at Strangfield School  SS#12.  While at Strangfield, friends Bill & Betty introduced her to the love of her life Wayne. They married in 1950 and raised four children together on the family farm.   Marjorie continued as a substitute teacher at East Mersea, Ridge School, Mt. Carmel and Comber Centennial.  She was a canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society and volunteered at the Tuck Shoppe at Country Village, Woodslee. She was a lifelong member of the United Church. In 2019 she celebrated 80 years of being with the church choir.  Her husband Wayne and she celebrated 53 years of marriage before his passing in 2003. Her memory is treasured by her children Beth (Gary) Chalmers, Jerry (Sue), Donald (Christine), Clair (Jill), her grandchildren Denise (Jordon), Russell (Lisa), Lori (Dan), Jon (Chantelle), Kevin (Michelle), Derek (Nicole), Curtis (Lauren), Steve (Sarah) as well as her 10 great grandchildren.  She is survived by sister Ruth MacKenzie (Donald 1986), sister-in-law Elfa (Bud) Coulter, Carol (Bob) Rahm and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her parent’s Hunter and Lillian (Walker) Harrow, brothers David (Dorothy), Lloyd (Pat) and sister Phyllis (Roy) Sweetman and sister-in-law – Eleanor (Joe) Atkinson.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home Inc., 6 Canal St. West, Tilbury on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  Funeral Service at the funeral home on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  A private interment will take place at McDowell Cemetery.  Memorial donations to Comber St. Andrew’s United Church or Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation - Cancer Care.  Online condolences may be shared at www.reaumefh.com
