Obituary of Charlie McGuire
McGUIRE, Charles William
January 22, 1938 – November 26, 2022
Passed away peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at 84 years old.
Survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Gladys (nee Escott), children Bob, Karen (Les). Predeceased by son Kenny (1984); Grandpa to Michelle (Andrew), Gary, Kellie (Andrew), Thomas, David (Anneliese). Great Grandpa to Ainslea, Emerson, Wyatt and Colton. Uncle Charlie to many nieces and nephews.
Son of the late Charles McGuire Sr and Eva McGuire (nee Patterson), Charles lived his entire life on the McGuire farm (est.1863) in Tilbury North Township. Charles enjoyed farming for many years and later made a career change to became a Drainage Superintendent for Tilbury North and Tilbury West townships. Charles always wanted to be busy and enjoyed many things in life including farming, hockey, golfing, hot rod cars, standardbred horseracing and spending time with his family.
Charles retired at 63 and spent many years keeping busy with his standardbred horse breeding and racing business. Later in life you could find Charles on his lawn tractor cutting the grass at home.
Cremation has taken place on November 28th. A celebration of life to be scheduled at a later date.
