Obituary of Rene Blain

BLAIN, Rene 83 years, of Tilbury, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, September 17, 2012. Beloved husband and best friend of Pauline (Donais) for 63 years. Cherished father of David and Elaine Blain, Diane and Jim Peltier, Judy and Ken Blain, Donald and Aline (2012) Blain, Annette and Roger Desimpel. Loving pépé to 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Alphonse Blain (1974) and Melina (née Brouillette) (1988). Loving brother of Sophie Marentette, Alphonse Blain, Lorraine (Don) Bulley, and the late Dona (1961), Raoul (2004), Clarence (2008), and Eugene (1999). Brother-in-law of Agnes, Rita, and Madeline Blain. Rene was the owner and founder of Rene Blain Trucking since 1947. In recent years he became an avid gardener who took pride in sharing with his family and friends the fruits of his labour. He was a life member of Msgr. A.J. McNabb Council Knights of Columbus and was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home, 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Parish prayers 7:00 p.m. Thursday. K of C prayers 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Family and friends are invited to proceed directly to St. Francis Xavier Church, Tilbury for Funeral Mass on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery to follow.
