Obituary of Ovaline Adeline Stacey

STACEY, Ovaline (Thibert), 88 years, of Comber, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Tilbury Manor on Saturday, August 3, 2013. Beloved wife for 66 years of the late Morris Stacey (2011). Loving mother of Kathleen (Jerome) Caza, Janet (Jeff) Edwards, Beatrice, Gary (Tammy), James (Joann), John (Darlene), and foster son George (Nancy) Taylor. Cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Narcisse and Souphranie (Duquette) Thibert, great granddaughter Laura Caza, and foster son Garnet Merritt. Dear sister of Marie Cox, Anne Wolinsky, Theresa Alexander, Beatrice Laframbroise, Paul Thibert, and the late Ernest, Leo, Alec, Jules, Raymond, Henry, Philippe, Angeline Serdan, and Laurina. Ovaline was the Comber librarian for 30 years, an active longstanding member of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion and I.O.D.E. in Comber. She worked the gates at the Comber Fair for several years, greeting locals and visitors in both French and English (No one got past her!). She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was everything to her and she was everything to them. Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Tilbury on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow, with interment at McDowell Cemetery at a later date.
