Obituary of Walter Douglas Hornick

HORNICK, Walter It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden death of Walter Douglas Hornick, at the age of 77, on December 29, 2019. Predeceased by his parents Douglas and Mabel Hornick and in-laws Clifford and Alvina Rivard. Loyal husband of 54 years to Carol (Rivard) and cherished by his two sons David and Stephen (Michiyo). Walt adored his two grandsons Daniel and Lucas and many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Ted (Marie) Hornick, Bob Hornick, Ruth Anne (Bob) Waites, and late Bill Hornick. Brother-in-law of Bill (Peggy) Rivard, Ken (Marg) Rivard, and Dave (Doreen) Rivard. Walt was an avid reader and had an in-depth knowledge of many topics including politics. He was an everyday fan of CTV and CNN. His passion of baseball and hockey was often shared with his special nephew Craiger. He will also be missed by his billiards buddies at the Legion. Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home Inc., 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral Service at the funeral home on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. In memory of Walt donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation appreciated.
